Hazel Holt Moore, age 90, of Laughlin Healthcare Center, formerly of the Bewley’s Chapel Community, died Thursday morning, April 3, 2003, at the center. She attended Bewley’s Chapel United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Kyle and Elza Thomas Holt and the widow of the late Clinton F. Moore, who died in 1965. Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law: Jean and Andy Nichols, Jane Holt, and Sam Coffey, all of Greene County; six grandchildren: Karen Coffey, of Dallas, Texas, Sam Coffey, Jr., of Greene County, Mike Nichols, of Chapin, SC, Sherry Buchanan, of Fort Mill, SC, Lisa Nichols, of Charleston, SC, and Amy Sampson, of Greene County; 7 great-grandchildren: Rebecca Buchanan, of Fort Mill, SC, Ryan Buchanan, of Columbia, SC, Sarah Buchanan, of Charleston, SC, Alexandra Nichols, of Chapin, SC, Michael Nichols, of Chapin, SC, Sara Coffey and Ty Sampson, both of Greene County; two sisters: Mary Mays, of Greene County and Marjorie Mihal, of Ohio; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Joan Luttrell, Wayne and Joann Busler, Kyle and Mary Ann Toliver, all of Mosheim, and Rebecca Brown, of Morristown. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jonelle Coffey; two grandsons, Steve Coffey and Clint Holt; and a sister, Ila Kesterson. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bewley’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Long and Rev. Kenneth Newman officiating. Interment will follow in Bewley’s Chapel Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Clyde Broyles, Alan Broyles, Guyman Gregg, Wayne Busler, Kyle J. Tolliver, Bobby Price, Alford Taylor, and Adam Luttrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James R. McKinney, friends and neighbors of the Bewley’s Chapel Community, and employees of the Laughlin Healthcare Center. Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
