Mrs. Pauline Haynes, age 85, of Newport, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 23, 2010. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Gene Haynes; parents Ella Fox and Noah Pierce McCarter; brother James C. "Buck" McCarter, and sister Lela Gregg. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jerry and Walter Kozuch of Valdosta, GA; daughter Joy Evans of White Pine; and only son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Christy Haynes of Dandridge. She is also survived by six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Tuan Fine and Heather Arnold of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their loving care for Polly during her final weeks of life. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, in Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Bryan and the Rev. Jerry Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home prior to the services.
