Mr. James Glenn (Grandpa) Connatser, 85, of Dillwyn, went to be with his Lord on September 13, 2003. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Ruby, whom he adored; son, Jerry Connatser and wife, Marion; two daughters, Patricia Mize and husband, Dennis, and Sue Maham and husband, Gordon; a sister, Ruth Falls; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was a WW II veteran and served his country proudly for over 33 years. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, at the Shorter Funeral Home, 1905 S. Main St., Farmville. Services will be held at Jones' Chapel, 953 Trents Mill Rd., Cumberland, at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 15, with interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
