Mary Irene Tipton Reagan of Townsend passed away at home, Wednesday, February 11, 2009. She was 75 years of age when the Lord wrapped his loving arms around her and took her home. She was of the Baptist Faith and loved to talk about the Bible. She was born in the Smokey Mountains at Tremont and later moved to Townsend, where she lived the rest of her life. She loved hiking in the mountains with her dear friend Francis Adams. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and a friend to all who knew her. We will miss and remember her always. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee Reagan; father, Commodore Tipton; mother, Maggie Forster Tipton Henson; two brothers, Clyde Raymond Tipton, and Robert J.C. Tipton. Survivors, loving daughter, Brenda and son in law, Wayne Effler of Walland; sisters, Gladys Lee Mills and husband, Cecil Mills, and Deloris Bunch all of Maryville; brother, Wayne Tipton and wife, Sue of Ohio; sister in law, Mamie Tipton of Maryville; a special cousin and friend, Nila Buchanan who came by often to lend a helping hand; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she dearly loved. Thank you to Dr. Petty, Dr. McCarty, and the nurses at the Cancer Center of Blount Memorial Hospital. Thanks also to the Hospice Team who provided extra care and comfort. Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Edward Santana officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, at Carpenters Methodist Cemetery for the graveside service and interment. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org
