She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gatlinburg. Phyllis, along with her parents the late Charlie and Lucile (Gossett) Whaley, owned and managed Mountain Market and Whaley’s 5 in 1 in Gatlinburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her uncle Hobert Gosett, aunts Willie “Bill” Delozier, Nell McCarter and Myrel Fain. Survivors: Daughter: April Kay Megson Grandchildren: Charlie Whaley Shirley and Copeland Whaley Marine Lifelong friend: Jean Lind of Florida Cousins: Paulette Fain Rice and Pat Fain Dziurzynski Former husband: Melvyn Megson and wife Iris Former son-in-law: Terry Lynn Shirley Aunt: Lila Davis Funeral service 7 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev.
