Imogene Finchum Thomas, age 88, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Sevier County Health Care Center. She was a life-long resident of Sevier County and a member of Burchfield Memorial Methodist Church in Sevier County.
Working was her passion and she spent a lifetime of working hard on her farm. She enjoyed the outdoors, raising cattle, vegetables, and flowers. She took great pride in being a Finchum and loved all of her relatives.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, Rosen and Minnie Hicks Finchum; sisters, Gladys Ashley, Mixie Hill, Reva Bush, and Exie Chaney; brothers, Kermit A. Prince, Clifford “Bud”, and Hix Finchum. She was the youngest of 19 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Jewel Dean (Judy) Morgan-Joy and husband J.T. Joy, Jerry Lynn Anderson and husband Bill Anderson; grandchildren, Kina Morgan Dutro and husband Rodney, Holly Anderson Broom and husband Bo, Billy Anderson and wife Melanie; great-grandchildren, Genesis, Trinity, Zion and Eden Dutro, Jordan and Dawson Anderson, Jake, Rhys and Edee Broom. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews that she was very fond of.
We want to thank all our family, friends, and community for their love, visits, and support during her stay at the nursing home. We want to extend a “special thanks” to all the staff, nurses, and CNA’s at Sevier County Health Care Center who made her life as comfortable as possible. We feel that God has blessed us with all these wonderful people and they have become our extended family during her stay.

Funeral service 7 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Reverends John Clark and Michael Ladd officiating. Interment will be 2 PM Sunday in Burchfield Memorial Cemetery.
