Sarah Cordelia Kester was born in Ohio, Oct. 27, 1840. At the age of ten years she came with her parents to Iowa, which state has been her home since that time. In 1860 she was united in marriage to John D. Ridenour, who proceded her to the spirit world nearly four years ago. She leaves behind eight children, five sons and three daughters, and a large circle of more distant friends to mourn the loss of a devoted Christian; but our loss is her gain. Many years ago she gave her heart to God and has lived a consistent Christian life ever since, going to sleep in the arms of Jesus, May 2, 1911, aged 70 years, 6 months, and 5 days. For many years she was a member of the U. B. church at Lime City. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Eveland, at the home 8 miles south of Tipton, on Thursday, May 4th, at 10:30 am. Internment was in the Rochester cemetery.
