Lillian Cody, age 92, of Knoxville, formerly of Sevier County, passed away, September 2, 2006 at Brakebill Nursing Home. She was born August 16, 1914 to Andy and Mary Ellen Maples Cody. She was a member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church in Sevier County, a long time resident of the Boyds Creek Community and Gatlinburg, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Rev. Hugh E. Cody, sisters, Beulah Tipton and Katherine Dimler, nephew Tom Tipton. Survivors: sister, Dorothy Prater, Halls, sister in law, Katherine Cody, nieces and husbands, Phyllis and David Matthews, Mary and Glenn Maddron, Sandra and Kyle Turner, niece, Betty Beeler, nephews, Don Tipton and wife Barbara, Edward Cody, Jimmy Cody, special cousin, Bobby Kelly. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Brakebill for the love and care they have given Lill. Service, 7:00 p.m., Monday, Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City, David Matthews officiating. Family and friends will meet, 12:45 p.m., Tuesday, Gists Cemetery, Sevier County, for interment at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church c/o Tom Donly, Treasurer, 1154 Rule Hollow Road, Sevierville, TN 37876. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
