Born: January 28, 1932
Clark, James Fletcher, Sr., age 78, of South Knoxville, died at 1:40 AM Friday, March 5, 2010 at home surrounded by his family. Member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Retired from the US Postal Service. Preceded in death by mother and father, Theo and Flaude Clark; sisters, Edith Wittenbarger and Helen Wittenbarger; brothers, Ray and Hubert Clark; nieces, Nancy Weaver and Carolyn Harrell; nephew, Maxie Wittenbarger; great-nephew, Travis Wittenbarger. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Sue Clark; sons: Mike Clark; Jimmy Clark and wife, Sandy; daughters: Anita Clark; Teresa Irwin and husband, Danny; grandchildren: Andy, Greg, and Michelle Clark; Ashton and Courtney Irwin; Brooklyn Miller; brother-in-law, Frank Gilbert; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane and Buddy Cook; sister-in-law, Alice Hoskins. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Covenant Hospice for the wonderful care they gave him. They also wish to thank all the people who came so faithfully during his eight years since his stroke and the last year and nine months since he developed cancer. The family also wishes to thank all the people who brought fresh produce and homemade bread. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 PM, Rev. Jack Cooper officiating. Soloist will be Bill Davis. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home at 10:15 AM on Monday and go in procession to Highland South Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Johnson, Paul Hodges, Jr., Eddie Cook, Mark Cook, Kenneth and Howard Wittenbarger.
