Clyde Helton, Jr., age 74, of Morristown, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. He was a member of Calvue Missionary Baptist Church, was retired from BASF after several years, and then started appliance service work, where he made many friends over the years. He was a member of the Morristown Masonic Lodge 231, a Shriner, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the Kerbela Exotic Car Club. He took several mission trips, including trips to Belize, and was a team member of the Hearts of Christ Ministry. He was preceded in death by his father, Eulis Clyde Helton; mother, Tesha Chance; and brother, Ralph Helton. He is survived by his wife, Aurelia “Sally” Helton; son, Eric Dewitt (Faye) Helton; grandson, Parker Cody Helton; other sons, Steve Helton, Ronnie Helton, Donnie Helton, and Jeffery Helton; brothers, Harrison Helton and Billy Helton; sisters, Shelbia Lethco, Thelma Williams, and Brenda Loveday; several other grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, December 23 at Calvue Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Zavattieri and Rev. Lee Seal officiating. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday, December 22 at the funeral home, with Masonic Services at 8p.m. Pallbearers will be Bud Hoover, R.T. Johnson, Ken Sheffield, Allen Warren, Roy Fraley, and Elmer Blanken. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Rouse, Donnie Owen, Billy Murphy, and Corey Williams. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
