Ralph Helton, 73, of Enterprise, Ala., died Sunday evening, Dec. 5, 2004, at Flowers Hospital following a brief illness.
Helton was born in Sevierville to the late Clyde Heton Sr. and Tesha Gibson Helton. He retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant major after serving 35 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Scott Helton, of Enterprise; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Casey Hoover, of Phoenix, Ala. and Anita and Ron Myers, of Columbus, Ga.; son, Ralph Eugene Helton, of Sevierville; brothers, Clyde and Harrison, of Tennessee, and Billy Helton, of Florida; sisters, Thelma Williams, Brenda Loveday and Shelba Lethco, all of Tennessee; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with military honors were held Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, in the chapel of Patterson-Sorrels Funeral Home in Enterprise with the Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating. Burial was Thursday, Dec. 9, in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
