Gene Parton, age 74 of Sevierville, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016. Gene was Assistant Pastor of Pentecostal Church of God on Allensville Road in Sevierville. He was a former employee of Sevier Industries and worked at Sevier County High School until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Cora Parton; brother Carl Parton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, David and Margaret Patty. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Frances Parton; children, Mike Parton, Paul Cardwell, Francine Barnes and Bobby Cardwell; grandchildren, David Cardwell, Megan Parton, Paige Owens, Nikki Dunaway and Dustin Dunaway; great-grandchildren, Ada, Riley, Hudson and Colton; brothers, Glenn (Jimmie) Parton, Buford Parton and friend Mary, Wayne (Ada) Parton, Leroy (JoAnn) Parton; sisters, Edith Boling, Gladys Boling and Helen Dotson; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Carr and Rev. John Workman officiating.
