He was an avid muscle car enthusiast. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Reeves Sutton, step-mother Faye Carr Sutton, mother-in-law Margaret Ramsey, and sister-in-law Mary Gibson.
