William Allen Lindsey was called to be with his heavenly father, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2011 after 85 years of life. William, Bill, lived in Maryville with his beloved wife of 67 years, Iva Jean Atchley, where he was a founder and member of Unity Christian Church. Bill was also a founder of Smoky Mountain Christian Church of Sevierville. He was a member of the Masons and Gideons, and proudly served the army during WWII. Bill lived an extraordinary life and was an example to be followed for his family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Haskell and Lori Lindsey; son, Bobby Lindsey. He is survived by wife, Iva Jean; sons, Billy, Dwight, Dennis (Cindy) Lindsey, Darrell (Pamela) Lindsey; daughter and son-in-law Audrey and Douglas Yates; grandchildren, Michelle Culp, Bobby Allen, Linda B., James and Jessa Lindsey, Archie Liggett, Aaron White, Abigail and Isaac Lindsey, Ashley McMahon, Keely Jennings, Josh Lindsey, Jason Reagan, Bret Lindsey, Perry and Lindsey Smyre, and 13 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 9, 2011, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Smith West Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Josh Lindsey officiating. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment on Monday, October 10, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery.
