U.S. Veteran Leonard Earl Ramsey, age 71, of Rockford, passed away Monday, November 6, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Rockford and Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired barber, loved sports, and coached midget football. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Preceded in death by parents, Minyard and Ella Ramsey; son, Leonard Earl Ramsey Jr.; and brothers, Troy, Lee, Ray, Carl, Claude, and Paul Ramsey. Survivors include his wife, Betty Ramsey; daughters and sons in law, Linda and Avron Cospy of Maryville, Vickie Ramsey of Maryville, and Connie and John DeLozier of Maryville; son and daughter in law, Phil and Stacy Ramsey of Rockford; grandchildren, Dawn Ramsey, Earl Ramsey, Jason Ramsey, Jacob and wife LeAnne DeLozier, Chelsey DeLozier, Dustin Ramsey, Josh Ramsey, Kayla Ramsey, and Tyler Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Whitney, Shayla, Meisha, Erin, and Dakota Ramsey, Haley Thomas, and Caleb, Daniel, and Matthew Ramsey; brother, Raymond Ramsey of Louisville; sisters, Bonnie Carr of Seymour, Mae and husband Vaughn Manis of Sevierville, and Ruby Chambers of Sevierville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Billy Moore officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Friday at Morganton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. (www.millerfuneralhome.org)
