Oris Tillman Bible, 71, of Del Rio, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 7, 2001, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tillman Bible; and an infant brother, Hershell Bible.
He was a member of the Del Rio First Church of God.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Reva Clark Bible, of the home; his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenan and Diane Bible; Darius and Kathy Bible, all of Del Rio; granddaughters: Katie, Kacie, Megan, and Darissa Bible, all of Del Rio; sister, Lois Finchum, of Del Rio; brother, Joseph M. Bible, of Del Rio; and mother, Celestion Bible, of Del Rio.
Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at the Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Murr and Rev. Robert Ashley officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at Clark Cemetery for the 11 a.m. interment. Military rites will be provided by the Disabled American Veterans, L/CPL Charles C. Roberts Chapter 102.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, October 9, 2001 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews: James Stinson, David Bible, Dwayne Finchum, Scott Stinson, Dana Clark, Dusty Bible, and Trevor Finchum.
