Berry, Ruth LeCoultre, age 91, of South Knoxville died at her home January 9, 2002. She regularly attended Meridian Baptist Church for the past several years. Preceded in death by husband, State Senator Fred O. Berry, Sr.; infant sons, Harrell Louis Berry and Carroll Louis Berry; parents, Louis Mark and Mary Truan LeCoultre, both members of the prominent Swiss community of Knoxville, two brothers and one sister.
Survivors
nieces: Helen L. Steele and husband Ernest; Katherine L. Wyrick; Beverly L. Wilson and husband Kyle; Sherry Harold, all of Knoxville; step-sons: Fred O. Berry, Jr. and wife Marilyn, of Knoxville; David A. Berry of Seymour; step-daughter, Nancy Lee and husband Eddie of Knoxville; Shirley Berry, widow of step-son Eddie Berry of Knoxville; 11 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; special friends Ed and Bertha Weigel and Opal Longmire. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Pat Hughes, Wanda Nelson, and Bobbie Speir for their loving care.
Service
Funeral service 2:30 PM Saturday, January 12, 2002, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Maryville Pike. Memorials may be made to Meridian Baptist Church 6513 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM prior to the service in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
