Opal Huskey McCarter, age 84, of Gatlinburg, died Saturday, May 26, 2001 at Royal Care Nursing Home. She was a member of First United Methodist church, Gatlinburg, and resided at Mark Hill Village for nine years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas I. (Pete) McCarter; son, Thomas Israel McCarter; parents, Eli and Julia Ogle Huskey; brothers, Lloyd, Culla, Earl, Fred, and Sherrill Huskey; sisters, Ruth Floyd, Emma Kimsey, Dicie Bradley, and Mable Edwards.
Survivors: Daughter and Son-in-law: Barbara M. and Dan Koffman of Jupiter, Florida Grandson: Kevin F. Koffman and wife Tracy of Coral Springs, Florida Great Grandchildren: Amanda and Samantha Koffman of Coral Springs, Florida Sister: Edna Montgomery of Pigeon Forge Step-Son: John M. McCarter of Atlanta A number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 2 PM Wednesday in Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel with Rev. Melvin Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12-2 PM Wednesday at Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel, Pigeon Forge,TN.

Opal Huskey McCarter, 84, of Gatlinburg, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Royal Care Nursing Home.She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gatlinburg.She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas I. (Pete) McCarter; son, Thomas Israel McCarter; five brothers and four sisters. Her parents were Eli and Julia Ogle Huskey.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara M. and Dan Koffman of Jupiter, Fla.; grandson, Kevin F. Koffman and wife Tracy of Coral Springs, Fla; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Samantha Koffman of Coral Springs, Fla; sister, Edna Montgomery of Pigeon Forge; stepson, John M. McCarter of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday in Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Carr officiating.
