Bud (Elvis Houston) Tipton age 77 of Maryville went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He retired from Alcoa and was a member of their 25-Year Club. Bud was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend who will deeply missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by: Parents, Vernie & Anna Tipton; Grandparents, Rev. & Mrs. Johnny Tipton. Survivors include: Loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Merle Keller Tipton; Son & Daughter-in-law, Chuck & Benita Tipton of Maryville; Daughter and Fiancé, Teresa Owens and Ken Wahlers of Maryville; Grandchildren, Ryan & Stephanie Tipton, Trea Tipton, Kendra Swafford, Roger & Sarah Owens all of Maryville; Great-Granddaughter, Molly Tipton; Sisters, Laverne Cable, Barbara & Johnny Skinner, and Edith & Larry Dixon; Aunts, Betty, Inez, and Jean. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Rex Everett officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Old Piney Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 826 Old Piney Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
