Helen Anne McCarter Ogle, age 88, of Pigeon Forge passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in Maryville, TN. She was the eleventh of twelve children of the late Rev. Eli McCarter and Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Hatcher McCarter. She was a member of Roaring Fork Baptist Church and a long time employee of The Gatlinburg Inn.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas J. Ogle; 6 sisters; 4 brothers; and her parents.
Helen is survived, loved and adored by her dear sister, Louise McCarter Huskey; nieces and nephews, Jerry Pickel, Ed and Barbara "Bobbie" Pickel Deal, Tom and Karen McCarter Mercurio; cousin, Darlene McCarter Carr, all of whom supported and cared for Helen in her later years on behalf of the other nieces and nephews, Johnny McCarter, Virginia Halter, Don Pickel, Mary Gilbert, Barbara Koffman, Dorothy Yakumithis, Henry McCarter, Mary Chambers, Charles Harget, Norman Huskey, Jackie Mailloux, Tracey Bridwell, and Leslie Stinnett; also survived by many relatives including Tom's nephews, Don Bohanan, Bill Gosnell, and Jess Williams; friends and neighbors, especially Trevor Matthews.
Memorial donations may be made to Roaring Fork Baptist Church, 231 Church Street, Gatlinburg, TN 37738.
The family will receive friends from 12 PM to 2 PM Saturday with the funeral service to follow at 2 PM in Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel of Pigeon Forge with Rev. Norman Huskey and Rev. Kim McCroskey officiating. Graveside service and interment with family and friends serving as pallbearers to follow in Atchley's Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge.
