Lawrence Bailey Cate , age 74 of Kodak, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville,TN. He was a member of French Broad Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Mell and Hattie Bailey Cate; brothers Ralph, Ernest, Robert Cate; brother and sister-in-law Troy and Lucille Cate, all of Kodak; sister Florance (Cate) Swann and husband John of Dandridge; son-in-law Fred M. Loveday, Sr. of Kodak; brothers-in-law Henry and Clay Catlett.

Funeral service 2 PM Saturday at French Broad Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad, Rev. Jimmy Riner and Rev. Alfred (Al) Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Underwood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Cate, Todd Brown, Marty Loveday, Jimmy Catlett, Jared Underwood and Greg Kelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Cate’s former co-workers from Dempster Dumpster, Inc. of Knoxville.The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville,TN.
