PICKEL, WILLA ETTA (BILLIE) McCARTER - age 83, of Pigeon Forge died Thursday September 14, 2000. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge for over 50 years where she served as a faithful member of the choir, Adult Ladies Sunday school class, WMU, and Senior Adult Fellowship. She was also a member of Sevier County Old Harp Singers. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert R. Pickel; parents, Rev. Eli & Betsy McCarter; sister, Martha Bullock; brothers, Earl, Pete, Tine and John McCarter.
Survivors: daughter, Barbara Inscho, Maryville, Tenn.; sons & daughter in law, Don & Peggy Pickel, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Jerry Pickel, Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Sharon Brandenburg, Bret Pickle, Robbie Pickel, Dawn Pickel, Michelle & Randy Singleton, Sara Johnson, Paula & Nathan Trentham; great grandchildren, Andy Singleton, Beth Anne Singlton, Abbey Singleton, Hailey Brandenburg, Zachary Brandenburg, Elizabeth Trentham, Daniel Trentham, Madison Pickel, Ian Pickel; sisters & brother in law, Helen and Thomas Ogle, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Louise Huskey, Cleveland, Tenn., Alice Harget Toledo, Ohio, Edna McFalls, Va.; sisters in law, Della Pickel, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Anabell Green of Ky., Marydell McConnell of NC, Betty McCarter of Evensville, Tenn., Opal McCarter of Gatlinburg; brother in law, Darrell Pickel. Funeral service 7 p.m. Friday in Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel with Rev. Wayne Cook and Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Saturday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7 p.m. Friday at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge.

Willa Etta "Billie" McCarter Pickel, 83, of Pigeon Forge died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge for more than 50 years and was a member of the choir, Sunday School, WMU and Senior Adult Fellowship. She was also a member of Sevier County Old Harp Singers.
Her parents were the Rev. Eli and Betsy McCarter.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Inscho of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Peggy Pickel of Pigeon Forge, and Jerry Pickel of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen and Thomas Ogle of Pigeon Forge, Louise Huskey of Cleveland, Tenn., Alice Harget of Toledo, Ohio, and Edna McFalls of Virginia; several sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Pickel; one sister; and four brothers.
Funeral service was Friday at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel. Interment is 10 a.m. Saturday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
