WEST, LUKE L. - age 83, of Maryville, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church for 47 years. Mr. West was employed by ALCOA and later was part owner of Maryville Builder Supply, and was retired from Tennessee Vocational Center in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burgess and Pearl Huffstetler West; brothers, John, Raymond, Walter and Earl West; sisters, Neva, Grace and Martha. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Lucille West; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Carol West of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Mike and Nancy West of Maryville; sons, Joe West of Jamestown, Tenn. and Richard West of Greenback; grandsons, Peyton Layne, Jamie Lee, Luke Austin, and Michael Bruce; brother, B. West of California; sisters, Elsie McCall of Binfield, Lucille West of Maryville; uncle and aunt, Burl and Lucille Huffstetler of Maryville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Maryville First United Methodist Church with Rev. James R. Green and Rev. Sterling Turner officiating. The interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shields Sunday school class and Circle #6 of Maryville 1st UMC. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30-3 p.m. at the church. The family prefer in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Maryville First United Methodist Church Asbury Kitchen Fund, 804 Montvale Station Rd., Maryville, TN 37803.
