Charles Edward “Charlie” Moore, 68, of Greeneville, Tenn., died June 15, 2013. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Shelia (Keeble) Moore; daughter, Christina “Christie” Ward; son, Jeffery Charles Moore; and Blount County survivors, one sister-in-law and her husband, Geraldine and Bobby McKenry; brother-in-law and wife, Dana and Jackie Keeble of Maryville; father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Keeble of Blount County. The family will receive friends from 1–3 and 5–7 p.m. on Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home, Greeneville, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel. Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Cemetery, Greeneville.

Charles Edward “Charlie” Moore of Kenney Street, Greeneville, passed away at 8:02 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family and close friends. He was 68 years old.
Charlie was born and raised in Sevier County. He graduated high school at Tennessee School of the Blind in Donaldson, TN. While there he was on the wrestling team. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN.
Charlie met his wife, Sheila in January 1966 and they were married in July 1966.
In 1968 they moved to Greeneville and opened their business Charlie’s Record Center. In 1969, Charlie bought a Radio Shack franchise. He was owner and operator of Moore’s Electronics/Radio Shack Dealer for 42 years. He continued to work until his health made him stop. The Greeneville Radio Shack was one of the top dealers winning many awards. Charlie and Shelia traveled the world with Radio Shack.
Charlie was a Greeneville Alderman from 1981 until 1991. He served as Vice Mayor under G. Thomas Love. While an alderman he served on the Roby Board and the Parks and Recreation Board.
Charlie loved his Lord and his church. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Greeneville for the past two years. Before that he was a member of Towering Oaks Baptist Church for 42 years. There he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and he served on many committees. He was Chairman of the Finance Committee when the church relocated from the corner of Church Street and Bernard Avenue to Buckingham Road in 1980. Charlie loved his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and Pappap.
He was a son of the late Bill and Roxie Moore of Gatlinburg.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years: Shelia (Keeble) Moore; one daughter and son-in-law: Christina “Christie” and Jeff Ward; one son: Jeffery Charles Moore; two granddaughters: Jade and Jorga Ward; two brothers: Paul Moore of Pigeon Forge and Sheril Moore and his wife, Louise, of Dandridge; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty and Robert McIntosh of Chuckey, Sue and Raymond Self of Gatlinburg, Faye Romines of Morristown; one sister-in-law and her husband: Geraldine and Bobby McKenry of Blount County; two brothers-in-law and their wives: Randall and Herta Keeble of Gore, VA, and Dana and Jackie Keeble of Maryville; father-in-law: Robert “Bob” Keeble of Blount County; numerous nieces and nephews; very special friend of the family: Jason Oliver.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruby Moore and Edna Breeden; one brother: Robert Moore.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 and 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel. The Rev. Dennis Shumate and the Rev. Joey Tillery will officiate. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday to travel in procession to Oak Grove Cemetery for the 11 a. m. committal service.
Active pallbearers will be Melton Loftis, Jason Oliver, Jerry Wilhoit, Ken Welker, Frank Parker, and Jeff Idell. Honorary pallbearers will be Woody Wilburn, John Lingo, Charlie Carson, Dr. Rob Barnes, Melvin Jones, the Bowman Sunday School Class, and the employees of Radio Shack.
