She was born January 14, 1935 in Gatlinburg, TN. She spent most of her life as a military wife and mother. Her father, Robert C. Owensby and daughter, Angela L. Gaddy preceded her in death. Family members include her husband, Dennis W. Phillips; children, Angela L. Gaddy (deceased), Clayton D. Gaddy, Robin J. Gaddy and Robert W. Gaddy; stepdaughters, Cheryl A. Palmer and Lynn Bauldry; brother, John B. Carr and wife, Jetti; grandchildren, Shane and Brandy M. Thornton, Austin D., Matthew R. and Alex H. Gaddy, Drew, Wesley and Jason Palmer, and Josh and Kierston Bauldry; and great-granddaughter, Paige Thornton. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Faith Chapel South with Rev. Mike Stokes officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Faith Chapel Funeral Home, 100 Beverly Parkway, is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006.
