(March 15, 1940 - November 10, 2016) Jean Carver Cantrell, born March 15, 1940, went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2016. Jean was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She retired in 2013 after 30 years as a teacher’s assistant at Pittman Center School. Jean served Jesus all her life most recently with Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Clyde Carver; sisters, Alice Carver, Margie Vance and Mary Wilson; infant son, Bobby Gene Cantrell. Survivors include loving husband of 51 years, Clyde Cantrell; sons, Chip, Tony and Tim and their families including grandchildren, Lilly, Rose, Collin, Caleb, Anna and Noah Cantrell; Nathan, Lydia and Jared Cantrell ; Edna Wilborn; brothers Roy and Ted Carver and sisters Eula Justus, Faye Barnes and Iva Barnes. Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville with Rev. Roy Ogle officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 P.M. Sunday at Oldham’s Creek Cemetery for interment. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday prior to the service.
