McKinley Lamon, age 91 of Sevierville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 18, 2014. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. McKinley was a longtime member of Sevierville Church of God. He retired from Foote Mineral Company and Arnold Engineering. After his retirement, McKinley worked at Hillbilly Village and enjoyed meeting people. His favorite past times were gardening, Old Harp singing and spending time with his family.
McKinley was preceded in death by his parents, Hermie Jane Jones Lamon and Oliver Clarence Lamon; brothers, Herbert Lamon, Rex Lamon, and Sam Lamon; sisters, Lenora Blackwell and Iva Carr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Stella Mae Cantrell Lamon; son, Ernest Lamon and wife, Lisa; daughters, Hazel Taylor and husband, Larry, Linda Lonas and husband, Marvin; grandchildren, Angela Sims and husband, Brian, Jeff Lonas and wife, Beverly, Keith Lamon and wife, Jennifer, Stephanie Register, Kim Rentsch, Karen Chambers and husband, Tim;
great-grandchildren, Brittany Sims, Nicholas Sims, Sam Lonas, Makinley Lonas, Kyle Lamon, Chelsey Lamon, Dylan Lamon, Kayden Lamon, Sara Whaley, Katie Whaley, Jameson Whaley, Manning Rentsch, Styne Chambers; sisters, Meggie Compton and Lucy Lamon.
Funeral Service 4 PM Sunday at Sevierville Church of God 1018 Oak St, Sevierville, TN with Rev. Jerry Atkinson, Rev. Ken Cook, and Rev. Hubert McGarity officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday at the church. Graveside service 11 AM Monday in Pigeon Forge Methodist Cemetery with Kyle Lamon, Dylan Lamon, Keith Lamon, Jeff Lonas, Sam Lonas, Tim Chambers, Nick Sims and Brian Sims serving as pallbearers.
