He had retired from Freeman's Furniture. He was preceded in death by his wife, Birdie Evans , his parents, Willie and Birdie Evans , a brother, J.B. Evans and a sister, Maggie France. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Ronnie Chambers, Judy and Jerry Crum, all of Newport; brothers, Clarence Evans of Newport, James Evans of Medina, Ohio; grandson, Bobby Chambers; granddaughter and her husband, Julie and Jackie Kitchen; granddaughter, Pam Reno, all of Newport; grandchildren, Jeremy and Rethel Crum and Jason Crum of Newport; great-grandchildren, Jake Webb and Hunter Kitchen, both of Newport; grandchildren of love, Missy Griffin, April Griffin, both of Newport and Heath Pruitt of Greeneville; also special caregivers, Charlie Grooms, Joyce Lowery and Chad Presnell. Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Suggs and Rev. Ransome Hall officiating.
