He was a member and Chairman of The Deacon Board of Millican Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of The Mountain Star Lodge #197 F & AM of Sevierville. Mr. Flynn was an Air Force World War II Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Nettie Kate Flynn and brother, Cleo Flynn. Survivors: wife of 54 years, Helen Kerr Flynn; son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Linda Flynn; grandchildren, Jason and Amanda Flynn; sister, Elizabeth Flynn; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Rose Flynn; sister-in-law, Katherine Flynn; uncle, Boyd Sims. The family acknowledges and thanks a host of family members and friends for support during his illness. Special thanks are extended to Dwain and Jane Romines for their enduring support. Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday, December 18 in The West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with The Reverend David Wilson, The Reverend Bethel Crisp and The Reverend Kyle Rule officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19 in Millican Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Carl, Fred and Charles Flynn, Gary and Larry Sims and Charles Gann. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Frank Meyers, Joe Huskey, Michael Spence, Mark McWilliams, Lynn Cole, Bobby Wilhoite, Raymond Kerr, Ozell Watson, Rex Flynn and Wayne Spence.
