Jodie Arlene Trentham Keyes, 88, of Decatur, Ala., passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at Decatur Health and Rehab in Decatur, Ala.
She was born April 22, 1917, in Parrottsville, Tenn. She lived most of her life in Newport, Tenn., before moving to Decatur, Ala., in February 1980 to live with her daughter and family.
She was a member of Cave Hill Baptist Church while living in Newport, and became a member of Westmeade Baptist Church after moving to Decatur, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Keyes; son, Paul Keyes; parents, Luther and Mary Rebecca Trentham; six brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include daughter, Mary Reece, and son-in-law, Homer Reece, of Decatur, Ala.; grandchildren: granddaughter, Annette (Tim) Ikard, of Toney, Ala.; granddaughter, Karen (Richard) Jones, of Decatur, Ala.; grandson, Steve (Angie) Reece, of Rogersville, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Allen, Candace, and Will Ikard, of Toney, Ala.; Danielle and Anna Jones, of Decatur, Ala.; and Brandon and Brian Reece, of Rogersville, Ala.; several nieces and nephews; lots of friends–(staff and residents) at Decatur Health and Rehab.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2005, at Manes Funeral Home prior to the service at 8:00 p.m., with the Rev. James Suggs officiating.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Steve Reece, Tim Ikard, Richard Jones, Allen Ikard, Brandon Reece, Brian Reece, and Will Ikard.
