She was born November 4, 1918, in Knoxville. Her parents were Tom Bush and Maude Gee of Norway, Michigan. Mary was a life-long member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She was a 1936 graduate of Catholic High School, a member of St. Catherine’s Guild, a Girl Scout volunteer, and had worked as a secretary for Standard Knitting Mills. Preceded in death by: brothers, John (Chink) and Kenneth (Knocky) Bush. Survivors Survivors: husband, J.T. Manning; daughter, Marilyn and husband Tommy Moon of Woodford, VA; daughter, Kathy of Knoxville; brother-in-law Gus Manning of Knoxville; sisters-in-law Eleanor Martin of Diana, TX, Mary Ann Manning of Oak Ridge; several nieces and nephews. Service In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to: Interfaith Health Clinic, 315 Gill Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917, or Young-Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division Street, Knoxville, TN, 37919. Funeral Mass, celebrated by Msgr. Xavier Mankel, 11am Saturday, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, Friday, 6-8pm. Rosary service 8pm.
