SEVIERVILLE - A two-vehicle accident Saturday morning at the intersection of State Highway 411 and New Center Road injured two local women.
The women were Euwana Atchley, 63, and Carolina Clabo, age unknown, both of Sevierville.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, which responded to the scene, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Atchley, driving a gray Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck, and Clabo, driving a silver Ford Taurus, had a head-on collision, causing the truck to flip upside down and leaving Atchley briefly trapped inside the vehicle.
The Sevier County Sheriff's Department, the Sevier County Rescue Squad, the Sevier County Fire Department and the Sevier County Ambulance Service all responded to the accident.
Lt. Greg Parton, of the Sevier County Fire Department, said the details were sketchy, but one vehicle pulled out to turn while the other was going straight from Sevierville, causing the collision.
Atchley's son, Tom, was on his way home after fishing with his son and discovered that his mother had been in the accident.
"We just happened to roll on it," said Tom Atchley. "Mom was coming back from having a dialysis. A car pulled out, and she hit it."
Clabo was taken to Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center, and Atchley went to The University of Tennessee Medical Center via Sevier County Ambulance Service. Their conditions were unknown as of press time.
No other information was available as of press time.
