A.C. Byrd, age 93, of South Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013. He was an honest, hard working man with 15 years employment at Service Body Shop on St. Paul Street and 44 years at Service Body Shop on Blount Avenue. He was a member of Fort Hill Baptist Church and a longtime contributor to Shriners. His hobbies included fishing, camping, and playing with his dog Scottie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith LaVaughn Byrd, daughters, Carol Ann Byrd and Ruth Marie Allen, son, Hal Byrd, parents, George Trotter and Edith Jane Romines Byrd of Sevier Co., sisters, Elsie McCarroll and Georgia Ann Crisp, and brothers, Hal Ernest and James Ray Byrd.

Sons: Alan Craig and friend Helen Hunley and Richard Steven Byrd
Grandchildren: Stephanie Byrd, Colleen Garrett and husband Paul, Andrew Byrd, and Leann Byrd.
Great-grandchildren: Alexis Byrd and Abby Gumm
Sisters: Wanda Faye Brinley and Margaret Louise Breeden
Funeral service 7 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour with Rev. Thomas Huskey and Rev. Duncan Carver officiating. Interment 2 PM Sunday in Woodlawn Cemetery.
