Iva Grace Helton Joslin 90, of Wears Valley went to be with the Lord Friday, November 30, 2001. Mrs Joslin was preceded in death by her husband, Mayford Joslin (1904-1980), brothers, Howard, David, Kenny, Laymon, Earl, Delmar, and Ambrose Helton, sisters, Mattie Helton Headrick, Francis Helton McCarter.
Mrs. Joslin was born on April 11, 1911 in Sevier County, the daughter of Ben C. Helton and Anna Maples Helton. Mrs. Joslin served as interim Post Master of Concord Post Office from 1929 until 1933. In her later years she made ladies’ woven hand bags from 1951 until 1970, when she became a sales clerk at Lay’s 5 and 10 cent store in Sevierville where she worked until the closing of the store in January 1983. She was a faithful member of the Valley View Baptist Church in Wears Valley where she was active in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Discipleship Training.

Funeral Service 1 PM Wednesday at the Valley View Baptist Church in Wears Valley with the Rev. Jeff Hickman officiating Eulogies by Ethelene Ownby Morgan and Curtis Clabo. Interment will follow at the Alder Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
