HURST, EVERETT - 86, resident of Sterling House in Greenwood, SC, former resident of Knoxville, TN, widower of Ollie Estep Hurst, died November 18, 2010 at his home. Born November 12, 1924 in Sevierville, TN, he was a son of the late William and Mary Connatcer Hurst. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater. He was a retired supervisor with Pride Oil Company. Mr. Hurst was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Greenwood and was previously a member and deacon of Beaver Dale Baptist Church in Knoxville. Surviving are a daughter, Brenda H. and husband Don Weaver of Greenwood; a son, Kenny and wife Darlene Hurst of Knoxville; two sisters, Dorothy and husband Delmar Howard of Knoxville, Esta and husband Virlurs Smelcer of Sevierville; a sister-in-law, Billie and husband Omal Duke of Oak Ridge, TN; grandchildren, Julene Fisher and Shannon Weaver, both of Greenwood, Ken and wife Teri Hurst of Utah, Jason and wife Ginny Hurst, Matthew and wife Robbie Hurst, Brandon and wife Sarah Hurst, all of Knoxville, and Sean Hurst of Nashville, TN; eleven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday at Beaver Dale Baptist Church in Knoxville with Rev. Randy Webb and Rev. Rex Eldridge officiating. Burial will be in Woodhaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church from 2 to 3 Sunday afternoon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, or to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
