Johnny Ralph Lane, 65, of Newport, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003.He was preceded in death by his mother, Zella (Dover) Lane; father, Fred Lane, and brother-in-law, Tom Wines.He is survived by his wife, Peggy Wilson Lane, of Newport; sons, David Lane and wife Jennifer, of Newport, and Tony Lane, of Sevierville; grandchildren, Chelsea and Jordan Lane and their mother Tammy, and Shaina and Holly Lane, all of Cosby; brother, Ken Lane and wife Jean; sisters, Elmer Rose Wines, Shirley Byrd and husband Sherrell, and Louzella Giles and husband Darrell, all of Newport; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Emily and Edward Grooms, of Cosby; and several nieces and nephews.The family received friends Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral services with the Rev. Ray Wiley officiating.Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Waters-Large Cemetery.
