U.S. Veteran Richard W. Rolen, Jr, age 70, of Dandridge, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Wilson Rolen Sr., and his mother, Gladys Presnell-Rolen-Webb. He is survived by his wife Anna Moore Rolen; son, Richy Rolen; daughter, Melinda (Randall) O’Dell of Dandridge; step-father, Reece Webb of White Pine; grandchildren, Gunter Lee O’Dell, Cole O’Dell and Gabby Johnson and his special friend Hannah Ramsey; other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2016 with funeral service following at 8:00 pm in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, Brother Willie Winters officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 13, 2016 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Vietnam Disabled Veterans, 8719 Colesville Rd. Suite # 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
