He was born February 12, 1909 at his parent’s home on the banks of the Middle Prong of the Pigeon River. He enjoyed a long, loving, and hard working life as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, World War II veteran, woodsman, farmer and storekeeper. Mr. Green was the oldest surviving World War II veteran from Sevier County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milas and Nancy Green; daughter, Juanita Hodge; brothers, James Arthur, Charlie, Jack, Dave and Woodrow; sisters, Nellie Green, Miley Jane McMahan, Addie Lindsey, Minnie Whaley, and Levy Valentine.
