The funeral for Mr. Henry E. Henderson was Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Elkins East Funeral Home Chapel, Center Star, with Bro. Larry Wilson and Bro. Bobby Walton officiating. Burial followed in Civitan Cemetery. Visitation began Saturday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Elkins East Funeral Home is assisting the family.Henderson, 77, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003 after an extended illness. He was a native of Sevier County and had lived in Lauderdale County since 1962. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by the Corp of Engineers for many years as lockmaster at Wheeler Dam. He later retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a member of the Rogersville Masonic Lodge #147 and was also a Shriner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eva Henderson; sister, Hazel Fox; and brothers, Don Henderson and Carl Henderson.He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Henderson, of Rogersville; daughters, Elizabeth Embry and her husband James of Rogersville, Deborah Selak and her husband Rick of Germantown; grandchildren Stephen Embry and Laura Selak; and sisters, Anna Lou Elder and her husband Bill of Sevierville, and Marjorie Lafolette of Sevierville.Pallbearers were Ivan Trousdale, John Embry, Mark Ogle, Jay Ogle, Dan Ghrisby and Bob Ingram. Honorary pallbearers were Ken Montgomery, Billy Thornton and members of the Masonic Lodge #147.Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Parkinson Foundation.
