Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Erwin Helton; grandson, Rickey Helton, Jr.; parents, Columbus and Barbara Dellinger McMahan; brothers, Roy, Wilbur, and A.C. McMahan; sisters, Lummie Huskey and Mollie Shular. She is survived by her children, Doris Billings, Rickey (Sharon) Helton, Peggy (Joe) Racey, Mike (Susie) Helton, and Howard (Sandy) Helton; grandchildren, Michael (Andrea) McMahan, Chrissy McMahan, Allen Billings, Chad (Darcy) Spears, Violet (Ruby) Rivas, Joshua Helton, Shasta Helton, Howard Erwin Helton II, Jasmine Racey, Marissa Helton, Donelle Helton, Brandon Helton, Dusty (Elizabeth) Helton, and thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph McMahan; sisters, Joyce Birriel from Chicago, Ola Mae Helton, Lois Reed, Patsy Russell, and Lula Bell Matthews; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Johnny Helton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atchley Funeral Home to benefit the family. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM Wednesday, August 19th at McMahan Baptist Church located at 110 Henderson Avenue, Sevierville, TN with a gathering of family and friends starting at 5 PM.
