REAVIS, JOE PAT - age 74 of Knoxville, a husband, father and grandfather, who instilled his love and work ethic to all his family, died Saturday at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. He was raised in Columbia, TN, son of the late Joe Pat, Sr. and Elizabeth Park Reavis. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee, he was awarded his masters in Statistics in 1959. He worked in Oak Ridge for 33 years, first at Y-12, and later at K-25 and X-10. He was an adjunct professor at U.T. and taught statistics while he worked at Oak Ridge. Later, he then began Reavis Construction and was a developer and builder. He is survived by his loving and devoted family: wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Cox Reavis; his children, Patty Reavis, Cindy Baird and husband, Dr. Mike Baird all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Bobby Baird, Tyler Baird, Brittany Baird and Brooke Baird all of Knoxville; sister, Sybel Crabtree and husband, Joe of Franklin, TN. A celebration of his life will be 6:30 P.M. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Rev. Roy Zinn officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday at Eusebia Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Blount County, for a 11:00 A.M. interment service. Honorary pallbearers: Bobby Baird, Tyler Baird, Al Blanton, Ronnie Rader, John Gerwells, Dr. Joe Broady, Bill Broady, Jim Cox and Joe Crabtree. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: Webb School of Knoxville, Development Office, 9800 Webb School Drive, Knoxville, TN 37923 or to the American Heart Association, East TN Region, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909.
