Juanita Chandler Lundy, age 91 of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at University of Tennessee Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Jefferson City, Tennessee and grew up in Sevierville. She was the second child of Stewart and Lee Tate Burden. She had been very active in the Boyd’s Creek Church of God since 1934. Juanita retired from the housekeeping department of Sevier County Hospital after 21 years and later worked for Home Care for Senior Citizens by contract until she was 89 years old.
Mrs. Lundy served on various community organizations including Homecoming ‘86 for Sevier County, M.O.S.E.S. Organization in Sevier County, the American Business Women’s Association, VFW, and American Legion Auxillary. In 2001 she was honored as the oldest African American in Sevier County and in 2005 she was honored as the oldest living descendent of the John and Mollie Burden families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Roy C. Chandler and Charles Samuel Lundy, daughters Shirley C. Harris and Lois C. Branner; brothers Stewart H. Burden, Jr., and Eugene Burden; sisters Celestine Sims and Lois Cloteal Armstrong.

Sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Mary Chandler of Knoxville; Charles H. and Gwendolyn Chandler of Knoxville; Stewart Brent Chandler of Sevierville
Grandchildren: devoted granddaughter Caroline M. Moore, Tracy Lindsey, Juanetta Smith, Gary Moulden, James R. Chandler II, Raphael C. Feamster, Clinton Harris, Stephanie C. Thompson, Jennifer Chandler
