Dianna Ogle passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009, at her home following a short illness.
Dianna was a lifelong resident of Gatlinburg. She graduated from Gatlinburg-Pittman High School in 1976. She also graduated from the American Red Cross CAN Class in 2002 and from the Universal Class of Horseback Riding Instruction for Children, receiving honors of Outstanding Achievement, Certificate of Merit, and Academic Excellence in 2007. Dianna was a member of The American Riding Instructors Association, Arbor Day Foundation, and ASPCA. She was a volunteer for The American Red Cross Disaster Relief as well as a Who’s Who Life Member of Strathmore’s. Dianna loved being surrounded by her children, family, friends, and animals.
Dianna was preceded in death by her father, Thomas A. Ogle of Gatlinburg; grandparents Hattie Ogle McGiffin and Charlie Ogle of Gatlinburg and Pete and Frank Eckel of Sevierville.
Survivors include her mother, Jean Ogle of Gatlinburg; children Austin Musick (Brandon) of Los Angeles; Isaac Ogle, Johnny Snelling, Millie Snelling, Adam Cushman of Gatlinburg; Haas Snelling of Lenoir City, and Noah Cox of Knoxville; granddaughters, Alexandra Barrett of Los Angeles and Elizabeth Cox of Knoxville; sister, Joanna Self of Atlanta; brothers Craig Cooper and Sammy Cooper of Gatlinburg; several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, a niece, and four nephews.
The family will receive friends 4-5 PM Saturday, April 4 at First Baptist Church in Gatlinburg with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 5 PM at the church.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her cousins David Ogle, Jim Ogle, Charles Earl Ogle, Tom Dunn, Tommy Roe, Scott Kirker, Kelley Kirker, and David Kirker.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to The Hospice Fund or The Katerpillar Kids Camp, Ft. Sanders Foundation, 1901 W. Clinch Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37916-9986.
The family also wishes to thank hospice nurse, Julie Crum, and caregiver, Paula Moore, for their loving kindness and care.
