Retired from Viskase Corporation after 20 years of service. A member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Mayford and Della Ogle Maples and daughter Sandra Maples Campbell. Survivors include son, Samuel Eugene Maples, Jr., Lenoir City; grandchildren, Rachel Campbell, Tyler Campbell and Rebekah Campbell; sister Elizabeth Glass, all of Loudon. Funeral services 7 PM Thursday, McGill Karnes Chapel with Rev. Gene Russell officiating. The family will meet at 10:15 Friday morning at McGill-Karnes Funeral Home and proceed to Loudon County Memorial Gardens for an 11 AM interment service. The family will receive friends 6-7 PM Thursday prior to the service at McGill Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon.
