David Temple King, age 70 of Sevierville, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, on his mother's birthday.
He graduated from Sevier Co. High School and the University of Tennessee and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, having worked as a rural letter carrier in Seymour. He loved farming, gardening, and hunting.
Preceded in death by: father and mother, Sam B. King, Jr. and Ethel Temple King; father-in-law, Allen Howard; nephew and one of his 3 namesakes, Matthew David King.

Wife of 43 years: Janet King
Daughter: Diana King of Los Angeles, CA
Brothers: Sam A. King and wife Anita of Panacea, FL; Joe King and wife Paula of Lafayette, GA

The family would like to thank the Sevier Co. Health Care staff and residents of the last 4 years for their loving care and friendship; other devoted caregivers, especially Shirley, Erecka, and Ellen; family and friends who volunteered many times to take David outside for coffee and cigarettes.
The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Monday, Feb. 18 with funeral service to follow at 4 PM in Atchley's Seymour Chapel with Richard Wallace officiating.
