He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Ruth LaFollette; wife Dorothy Maples LaFollette; daughter, Jama Collins; brother William H. (Bill) LaFollette and wife Ginger. Survivors include his daughter, Lela Gail LaFollette Matthews and husband Steve; grandson, Mitchell Hodges and wife Ashley; granddaughter, Katie and husband Michael Preston; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Emma, Dakota and unborn baby Hodges; brothers, Delmar LaFollette, Gene LaFollette and wife Edna, Joe LaFollette, John LaFollette and wife Debbie; sisters, Dorothy Maples, Martha Hurst and husband Ed Zeigler, Shirley Lenz and husband Larry; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncle, Aileen Blalock, Betty Belvin, Ernest Maples and wife Pat; special friends, Jack McMahan, Jock Justus and Joe Monger; Jim's companion, Rita Brown.
