March 25, 1940 - February 13, 2014 Resided in Knoxville, TN John (Johnny) David Hamilton, Sr., age 73 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War and was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Mr. Hamilton retired from Selecto Packing Company and Tennessee School for the Deaf in Knoxville. Before his illness, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family. Most importantly, he was a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his mother Pauline Brown Hamilton, father Clarence Hamilton, sister Lela Hamilton, and brother Jimmy Hamilton. Survivors: Devoted wife of 54 years: Blanche Huskey Hamilton Son: John David Hamilton, Jr. and daughter-in-law Caroline Miller Hamilton Daughter: Terry Hamilton Chandler and son-in-law Terry Chandler Granddaughters: Kristen Chandler, Kelly Chandler McCarter, Haley Hamilton, McKenzie Hamilton Brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby and Barbara Hamilton, Ronnie and Nancy Hamilton, Mary Hamilton Many nieces and nephews Special thanks to family, the Sevier County Ambulance Service, the Sevier County EMA, Knoxville Utilities Board, and the staff at Sevier County Health Care for their love and support. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday, February 16 at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour with funeral service to follow at 4 PM; Rev. Doug Inman officiating.
