Resided in Gatlinburg, TN
A native son of Gatlinburg, O.H. Ogle, age 81, left this world for his celestial home on March 29, 2014. He was welcomed there by his parents, Cleophas and Jessie Ogle, his brother Max (Eula Lindsey) who died three days before him and his son, Ken (Jeni Eslick) who died on February 20, 2014.
O.H. graduated Pi Beta Phi High School, Carson Newman College and earned his master's degree at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. After several years in the education field, he founded his own real estate and construction firm in Taylors, South Carolina. He and his wife of 58 years, Anne Trotter Ogle, retired in Gatlinburg in 1994. His sisters, Peggy Sue Watson (Clellon) and Betty Jinks share loving memories of the fine life he lived, especially the past five years as his body was consumed by a rare muscle disease, Myopathy, which he suffered with courageous faith and an uncomplaining spirit. His daughter, Susie Ogle Parrish, was his loving caregiver from March 28, 2010 to his last breath.
Like his father before him, O.H. loved to praise his Lord in song and served as a deacon and choir member at the First Baptist Church in Taylors, and of Gatlinburg for the past twenty years. Following visitation in the fellowship hall from 11 AM until 1 PM on Thursday, April 3, friends and family will gather in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Gatlinburg to remember and honor his life. A private family burial will be held following the service at White Oak Flats Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
