Resided in Sevierville, TN
Daniel R. Williams, age 67 of Sevierville, "had a date to go home" to the Lord Monday, July 11, 2016 following a brief but aggressive illness.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, 1st Cavalry, Viet Nam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart and many more medals.
Dan was a small business owner in Sevier County and an active member of Pearl Valley Baptist Church. He loved his family, but his grandchildren were his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Ona L. Williams; brother, Billy June Williams; nieces, Diana Wooten, Susie Williams, Karen Mendoza, Angela Lewellen; brother-in-law, Jimmy Frye, father and mother-in-law, John B. and Sybil Duncan.
Survivors:
Wife of 34 years: Dewanna Williams;
Loving Children: Lee Ann Myers, Josh and Colleen Williams, Tina Williams and husband Jason Whitlock;
Grandchildren: Tessa Flynn, Alexis Myers, William Myers, Joseff Johnson, and Catherine Williams;
Brother: Sam Williams;
Sister: Shirley Frye;
Several nieces, nephews and cousins;
Brother and Sisters-in-law: Barry and Brenda Duncan, Dawn Myers, Delisa Destefano, and Miranda Ortiz and fiance Nick Pieroni;
Special friends: Johnny and Brenda Sewell, Pat and Paula Koerick, Craig Oliver, Adrianna Olcese and members of Pearl Valley Baptist Church.
A special thank you to Avalon Hospice nurses Cathy and Patty who showed incredible compassion and too many friends to list.
Funeral service 11 AM Thursday at Pearl Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Carr officiating. Interment will follow in the Marion Ownby Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-6 PM Wednesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com.
