SUTTON, CHARLES - 86, of Seymour passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Baptist Hospital. Mr. Sutton was born August 11, 1921, in Oconoluftee, NC, to Lavator and Florence Reagan Sutton. He was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church for 70 years and past patron of Knoxville #69 Order of the Eastern Star. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy Seabee stationed in the South Pacific during WWII. After 34 years with the Knoxville Fire Department, Mr. Sutton retired in 1987 as Deputy Chief. Preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Nellie Sutton Reagan, Beatrice V. Sutton and Gladys Sutton Hartsell; brothers, James A. Sutton and Lavator Sutton Jr.; niece, Patricia Kramer and nephew Charles Sutton. Mr. Sutton is survived by: his loving wife of 61 years, Wilma O. Sutton; special nephew, Philip Winkle and wife Lisa; and beloved great-niece, Lindsay Christine Winkle; nieces, Sharon Siegel, Sandra Brabston, Jeanne Davis, Melissa Collins, Debra Jones; and nephews, Steve Sutton and Michael Sutton. Family and Friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home at 10:15 am Wednesday to travel in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment service.
